1. Interpretation
In these conditions:
- “We”, “us” or “our” means [Whites Removals & Storage], the removals and/or storage contractor.
- “You” or “your” means the customer.
- “Goods” means all items removed or stored.
- “Contract” means the agreement between us for the provision of services.
2. Our Quotation
- Quotations are valid for 28 days from the date of issue.
- Quotations are based on information provided. Additional services (e.g. dismantling, packing, delays) may incur extra charges.
- Unless otherwise stated, the quote excludes customs duties, parking permits, storage fees, and insurance.
3. Work Not Included Unless Agreed
Unless agreed in writing, we will not:
- Disconnect or reconnect appliances, fixtures, or fittings.
- Move items from lofts or attics unless properly lit and floored.
- Transport any items we reasonably believe to be hazardous, illegal, or dangerous.
- Remove or dispose of waste (this includes empty boxes after the move).
4. Your Responsibilities
You must:
- Ensure access to the premises is available at the agreed time.
- Obtain necessary parking permits and permissions.
- Be present or have someone represent you during the move.
- Declare all goods to be removed/stored.
- Empty, defrost and clean fridges and freezers.
5. Our Responsibilities
- We will handle your goods with reasonable skill and care.
- We will provide our services as described in the quotation and agreed upon in writing.
6. Insurance and Liability
- We are not liable for:
- Damage caused by fire, flood, or theft unless due to our negligence.
- Loss of or damage to items packed by you unless the box shows visible damage.
- Delays caused by weather, traffic, or third-party interference.
7. Delays and Postponements
- If you postpone or cancel within 48 hours of the agreed date, a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the total cost may apply.
- If we are delayed due to your actions, waiting time may be charged.
8. Storage Services
- All goods stored are subject to our warehouse handling charges and monthly fees as agreed.
- We require 7 days’ notice to retrieve stored items.
- Payment must be up-to-date to access stored goods.
9. Payment Terms
- Full payment is due on completion / receipt of invoice unless otherwise agreed.
- For storage, payment is due monthly in advance.
- Late payments will incur interest at 5% per week and storage may be denied until payment is made.
10. Claims and Disputes
- Any loss or damage must be reported in writing within 48 hours of delivery or access.
- We will investigate and respond within 14 days.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
12. Acceptance
By confirming the booking or allowing us to begin work, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
